Our vision and values

MD Law’s vision for the future having gone through a huge restructure during the past five years, is to continue looking for individuals from all areas of disciplines so we can continue to offer our clients an excellent range of services. We work closely with external consultants also and encourage applications from experienced fee earning through to administration staff.

We are a diverse law firm specialising mainly in services for the individual. We have our traditional Conveyancing Departments in both our Whitchurch and North Road offices and we also have our NEW Beddau Meeting Rooms.

We work closely with the community both locally and nationally, however we strive to provide a unique personal service and endeavour to use an empathetic approach to our clients needs and requirements. We value our clients and their instructions and we consider we are a friendly law firm who will also try to go the ‘extra mile’ to help clients quite often going through difficult periods of their lives.

It is not uncommon for clients to call in to provide us with updates in their matters, we regularly ‘pop the kettle on’ and that’s exactly what we thrive to offer a friendly legal service where the client is seen as a person where we will accommodate their set of circumstances as friendly and as professionally as we can.

Your feedback is equally as important to us, which is why we have set up our client care charter which invites our clients to comment on the services received from us. We will always do our best to provide the best possible legal services to our clients.

Parental Responsibilty

What is Parental Resopnsibility?

Parental Responsibility is defined as ‘all the rights, duties, powers, responsibilities and authority which by law a parent of a child has in relation to the child and his property’.

If you have parental responsibility you have the right to be consulted in key decisions about your child's upbringing, for example medical treatment and education.

It is solely for the interests of the child and not the parents. It does not give the parent who does not have day to day care of the child a right to interfere in routine daily issues.

Our team

What will happen to the housing market when lockdown restrictions begin to be lifted?

Whilst we in Wales are still under strict lockdown restrictions, it has been interesting to see the effect of the loosening of restrictions in England within the housing market. The Telegraph reported on 16th May that property demand has returned to pre-lockdown levels following the reduction in restrictions in England and stated that enquiries about houses had doubled on the day the Government announced the opening of the housing market. They claimed that Rightmove had seen more than five million visits to their site in the 24 hours following the Governments announcement which is a 4% increase on the same day last year. Zoopla had also reported a similar increase.

Savills Estate Agents carried out a Survey and concluded that there was a stronger emphasis in moving found after people had experienced the limitations of their current homes during lockdown e.g. for more space. People have arguably spent more time at home since March than they may have done in the years of ownership before and any desires to move have been strengthened.

Whilst we have at least another 2 weeks of strict measures here in Wales the above figures bode well for the re-opening of the Welsh Housing Market, indicating the opposite of the prior warnings of a crash.

Here at MD Law we are ready to advise anyone who is thinking of buying or selling their house on what can currently be done on your behalf prior to the loosening of restrictions and what we can do on your behalf in anticipation of the same.

We are currently offering a discount of £75 + VAT for all first time buyers.
